In 2013, CNCF-BE&E generously provided ASRS with a $1,000 grant. CNY-BE&E then awarded a $9,100 grant in 2024 to support ASRS' two-part STEM program at Brighton Academy. In 2025, CNYCF-BE&E supported ASRS' E-Gaming and Careers, DriveSafe Robotics, ELA Achievement and Attendance awards, as well as the Recognition awards hosted by Sigma Gamma Rho.

​"We have known ASRS for some time through our past administrator, Tamara Willis. The partnership was cemented when ASRS worked with Ms. Willis to help fund the Brighton Wolfpack Gaming Club, which uses e-gaming to educate students about potential careers in programming, coding, visual design, and other STEM fields. Our students are hungry for opportunities to grow and share their current talents and abilities.

Supporting ASRS is easy because the partnership fits with our broad mission. ASRS has directly improved the student experience by providing an engaging after-school opportunity. Organizations that are student-centered, innovative, and able to follow through will find easy success - just as ASRS has done with the students at Brighton."

Ms. Debra McClendon

Founder
Poised Gifted and Ready Foundation, Inc.

Organized in June 2012 with five girls, the PGR Foundation, now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, strengthens educational pathways, supports family engagement, builds leadership and etiquette skills, assists organizational capacity, and fosters equity through collaboration. PGR has grown into a cohort of 50+ mentees, with many returning from college to support PGR's programs.

 

PGR has had a collaborative relationship with ASRS Founder Maurice Etheredge since 2014, and in 2022, PGR received STEM funding from ASRS to administer the DriveSafe Robotics curriculum.​

​

Community-based organizations like the PGR Foundation and ASRS play a vital role in bridging equity gaps and driving meaningful outcomes. Their work directly addresses several critical needs identified by the NYS Department of Education in the areas of youth development, educational equity, family engagement, and expanded access to STEM education.
